Consilium Safety Group develops and manufactures advanced safety technologies and infrastructure for the marine, energy and railway sectors as well as for complex buildings, focusing on solutions within fire and gas safety and aftermarket services. The group operates in a large number of countries, with several legal entities and complex processes in sales, production and service. In the work to modernise the enterprise system landscape, Consilium identified the need for a more uniform and future-proof ERP support to further strengthen governance, reporting and collaboration within the group.

HerbertNathan & Co was tasked with leading Consilium's work to develop a quality-assured and group-wide basis ahead of the procurement of a new ERP system. Together with representatives from several companies and countries, HerbertNathan & Co led workshops and analyses to map the current situation and needs, create a complete RFP basis and ensure a structured, vendor-independent evaluation of possible system alternatives. HerbertNathan & Co also played a leading role in the upcoming procurement and guided Consilium's internal preparations ahead of a future system change, such as harmonisation of chart of accounts and reporting structure as well as establishing a project organisation.
The assignment resulted in a group-wide ERP system – and a clear way forward in the company's digital transformation. Through a complete, structured, and business-oriented decision basis, requirements, objectives, and critical choices for the ERP procurement were gathered into a common framework. With a transparent and methodical process, where system options were compared in a consistent and business-relevant way, consensus and confidence were created in decision-making. The common requirements structure laid the foundation for both efficient procurement and future implementation. HerbertNathan & Co was an active partner throughout the journey – from analysis and procurement to execution and contract negotiations – ensuring a qualitative, independent, and business-driven process from start to finish.
HerbertNathan & Co's structured approach to developing a needs analysis with associated capability requirements and their way of handling procurement and negotiations with vendors provided Consilium with a well-prepared and well-established agreement as well as a good start to the project with an established project organisation right from the start.
