FM Mattsson (called FM Mattsson Group) is one of northern Europe's leading groups in sanitary fittings, that is water taps, mixers and fittings for kitchens and bathrooms. The group consists of several manufacturing units as well as sales offices around Europe. Large parts of the operations were based on an older version of the enterprise system Infor M3 with a complex integration map with many adjacent support systems. The group had a need to investigate and establish a long-term strategy for how the application landscape should be developed to create a future-proof IT environment and an application environment that could support the group's growth and expansion.

HerbertNathan & Co was commissioned to conduct a review of the business's ERP system and the surrounding application landscape, and to develop an action plan for the continued development and improvement of the IT landscape. The work was based on interviews and workshops with the business's key personnel and management team, as well as a detailed review of the business's processes in sales, order, purchasing, inventory, planning, production and distribution, together with a compilation and analysis of the business's IT infrastructure and costs.
The result was a compilation of identified areas for improvement with clear, concrete and prioritised measures and activities to support and enhance the organisation's processes and future-proof the Business System and its integrated applications. The work created a clear action plan for the organisation's management and process owners.
