Väderstad AB is one of the world's leading companies in soil cultivation and sowing. The group includes several production units in Sweden and North America as well as sales to more than 40 countries. The group needed to develop a strategy on how the application landscape should evolve and the choice of direction for a group-wide ERP system.
HerbertNathan & Co was commissioned to conduct a review of the business processes as well as the ERP system and the surrounding application landscape, and to develop a strategy for how the landscape should be developed to support the group's continued growth and expansion. The work was based on interviews and workshops with the business's key personnel and management team to develop needs, benefits and cost analyses. Also the establishment of strategy and preparation of requirements specification for procurement. The assignment covered the processes within sales, order, purchasing, inventory, planning, production and distribution.
The result was an established strategy for long-term development of the future architecture of business systems and application landscape, as well as requirements work and completed procurement of a new group-wide business system. The work provided clear guidelines and structure for the procurement and preparations ahead of the subsequent implementation.
